‘Interstices’ is a choreographic collaboration program between Jerusalem and Montreal, designed to deepen the cultural dialogue between the two cities. The program enables a broad exploration of the body within cultural-political contexts through the performing arts and serves as a cultural bridge between diverse communities.
The ‘Interstices’ program was born out of the understanding that dance is a profound tool for expressing the identity and cultural complexity of both cities, enriching the discourse on human embodiment in a broader context. ‘Interstices’ provides a platform for artists to lead original, innovative projects that reflect the unique cultural DNA of Jerusalem and Montreal, supporting creation, research, presentations of new works, artist exchanges, and cultural gatherings. The program allows artists to deepen mutual learning and expand international collaborations.
Through the support framework it offers, ‘Interstices’ focuses on initiatives that connect local elements and allows the exploration of social, cultural, and political topics through dance. Its purpose is to foster sustainable learning, facilitate the exchange of creative ideas, and strengthen bonds between artists and audiences, with a focus on developing projects that reflect the unique cultural diversity of both cities.
