Projects
In 2015, in an accidental meeting between the two dance curators Elad Schechter from Jerusalem, founder of the c.a.t.a.m.o.n dance group, and Dina Davida from Montreal, founder of the “Tangente” Center, the Jerusalem and Montreal choreographers exchange project – “INTERSTICES” – was born.
June 2016/December 2016– an immersive visit by Schechter and Davida to each other’s cities
December 2017 – Hosting a delegation of choreographers from Montreal in Jerusalem. Program Participants: Nathan Yaffa, Philip Szporer, Suzanne Miller and Dorian Nuskind-Oder.
May 2018 – Hosting a delegation of choreographers from Jerusalem in Montreal.
Program Participants: Sofia Krantz, Ruby Edelman, Ido Feder, and Elad Schechter.
October 2018 – ‘From Jaffa to Agripas’ Festival hosts two Montreal-based choreographers Manuel Roque and Jason Martin for residencies, workshops, and performances.
November 2018 – c.a.t.a.m.o.n Dance Group participated in ‘Cinars Biennale’. The group presented a full showcase of Schechter’s choreographic works at Tangente.
October 2019 – ‘From Jaffa to Agripas’ Festival hosts MAYDAY DANSE dance company with Melanie Demers piece ‘Animal triste’.
November 2019 – A tour of seven performances in Montreal, St. Jean Richelieu, and Quebec City. With the works of Elad Schechter, Rand Taha and Hala Salem.
December 2019 – Supporting a delegation of artistic directors and agents from Montreal to participate in the Jerusalem Dance Week and international exposure.
December 2019 – Hosting the artists Marlene Millar and Philip Schforer in collaboration with ‘The Jerusalem Academy of Dance and Music’. The visit included workshops for students and a screening at the Beta Gallery in Jerusalem.
2020 – Online collaboration between the choreographer Uri Duvdevani and the artistic director Andrea Pena.
2020 – A series of online meetings devoted to strategic thinking between directors of dance organizations in Jerusalem and Montreal.
May 2021 – Online event with the choreographer Jason Martin discussion about his work and connection with Jerusalem.
2021 – Collaboration with ‘La Rotonde’. The program provided residency to creators in Canada and creators in Israel who met and held online meetings. The program connected the creators Maayan Libman Sharon and Marie Chantal Blend, Gilad Yerushalmi, and Yves Russo.
2021 – Grant for dramaturgy and Artistic accompaniment to the choreographer Uri Lankisky, by Canadian choreographer Kimberly de Jong.
2021– Grant for mentoring the choreographer Sofia Krantz by the Canadian choreographer Melanie Demers.
2021– Residency and 3 performances at the ‘From Jaffa to Agrippas Festival’ by the Canadian choreographer Jason Martin.
2021 – A one-week workshop by Jason Martin to the ‘Danceworkshop Gaaton’.
2021– The piece ‘1001 Lights’ by the artist Philip Schforer was presented as part of the “Jerusalem Biennale” in a ‘New spirit’ house.
