Shira Marek
A performance for an aluminum pipe, a body, and a place. A sequence of slow acts of positioning, a persistent search for softness in the face of a violent and aggressive reality. A search for a possible, necessarily temporary and changing place and how these create stability within a collapsing reality.
A material research developed over about five years, moving through a process of reduction and simplification from many bodies to a single body, allowing a deeper exploration of the intimacy that stillness offers.
