c.a.t.a.m.o.n Dance Group meets the Jerusalem Street Orchestra in the Brown Hotels

Thursday, 12.5 | Villa Brown Hotels, Brown JLM, Brown Machne Yehuda

An extraordinary and first-of-its-kind collaboration between the Jerusalem Street Orchestra and c.a.t.a.m.o.n Dance Group, brings together dance and music for an evening full of original performances at the Brown Hotels in Jerusalem. For one evening, venues and hotel rooms at the Villa Brown, Brown JLM and Brown Mahane Yehuda will become intimate stages on which short and intimate dance and music performances will be presented.

The first part of the evening will take place at the Brown JLM and Villa Brown hotels. Four short collaborative pieces between musicians from the Jerusalem Street Orchestra and dancers/creators from the c.a.t.a.m.o.n Dance Group will be exposed in world premiere. These intimate pieces will host small groups of up to five people at each show. They’ll perform several times throughout the evening (6PM-9PM).

The second part of the evening will take place in the lobby of the Brown Machne Yehuda Hotel. This special event will host the Jerusalem Street Orchestra bringing 15 string players, who will play classical creations along with pop and Israeli songs adapted for an instrumental orchestra. The concert will close with a live performance by dancers from the first part of the evening, bringing their characters into the concert. Conductor: Jonathan Spandorf.
