Remote Artistic advising and collaborating between La Rotonde and c.a.t.a.m.o.n dance group

Within the context created by the Interstices project – in which the vision is for artists from the Israeli and Québec City dance communities to connect and support their mutual projects in various ways – including financially, c.a.t.a.m.o.n. dance group and La Rotonde both offer to pair up an artist from each provenance, host them in residency and help them work as alongside one another. This time around, we would like to put the emphasis on artists who are in the process of creating a new piece which is destined to be presented to the public eventually. We will ask that participants keep written traces of their process with which we intent to create an art booklet.

Pairing will be facilitated by La Rotonde and c.a.t.a.m.o.n. dance group according to both artists’ interests. The range of work and engagement depends on the wishes and needs for the project. c.a.t.a.m.o.n will pay a fee to the Jerusalem based artist and La Rotonde will do the same with the Québec City based artist, this in effort to keep the communication and will to share going between the two communities.

La Rotonde will offer the Québec artist 40 hours in the studio and a fee of 800$ CAD and c.a.t.a.m.o.n. dance group will offer the israeli artist 40 hours in the studio and a fee of 2,000NIS.

If you are interested in taking part in this initiative, or would like to recommend an artist or colleague, please send a request that includes:

1- A short bio

2-Info about your artistic process as well as a few sentences of where you are in the creation of your piece

3- Do you do your work in combination with other artistic disciplines? If so, which one(s)?

Candidacies will be received until June 10th 2022 at 5:00 pm.
