Claudia Lavista
Choreographer – International Choreographers Retreatֿ
Performing artist, choreographer, professor and manager with more than 30 years of experience. BFA in Dance Pedagogy. Three times National Dance Award. Co-founder of Delfos contemporary dance and the Mazatlán Professional Dance School, pilar dance projects in Latin America. She has created more than 65 works that have been presented in 25 countries from Latin America, North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Continually teaches in dance faculties in Mexico and abroad. The University of Chicago awarded her the prestigious Mellon Fellow. Member of the National System of Art Creators. 2021 awarded with the International Jerusalem Fellows Award; 2024 Fulbright García Robles Chair Scholar. She has created works for opera, theater, site specific, dance film and multimedia projects. Claudia recently was named as the head of the Dance Direction at the UNAM (DanzaUNAM). Her mane interest is the interdisciplinary collaboration that generate projects created from artistic and human dialogue.
