UNDER CONSTRUCTION is a travelling dance and performance event in public space, bringing together architecture, movement and environmental art.
A journey through four stations in the city and four original works born from a charged encounter between the human body and Jerusalem’s outdoor sculptures.
In collaboration with the Visual Arts Department and the Outdoor Sculpture Department of the Jerusalem Municipality, with support from the Jerusalem Foundation.
Free admission!
Shaked Zonenfeld | Argamania
Lions Fountain | Gernot Rumpf
A site-specific dance work at Jerusalem’s Lions Fountain, moving between strength and vulnerability, between sculpture and living body. A little humanity, a little power, and women hanging from lions.

Daniella Aliguloff | Practice
Jerry the Dragon | Ulrik Plesner
A single virtuoso moment, preceded by long hours of practice. An encounter between two boys beside a dragon, or an encounter between two boys and a dragon, depending on the moment you pass through the garden. Working in open space prompts reflection on the limits of presence; in practice, presence is inseparable. In the dragon’s world, constant, rigorous practice brings freedom.

Tiferet Klimovsky | Predictable
Jerry the Dragon | Ulrik Plesner
One floats above the wandering stones, unpredictable and powerful
One—predictable and human
Darkness and light allow us to provoke
No games. There are things concealed, but no real mystery
Everything is revealed and known before the stone throne
Enjoy the viewing, predictable though it may be
Rotem Levi | Basalt
Troughs | Dalia Meiri
A performance work that places a woman’s presence openly at the heart of Jerusalem, exploring similarities between a woman’s body, water and life through texts by 21 accomplished women who are significant to me.
The work becomes part of the sculpture Troughs by artist Dalia Meiri, drawing imaginatively on the time capsule buried here 30 years ago, which will be opened long after I am gone.
